They govern sales of Clock Machines concluded on this site. By confirming your order, you accept them without reservation.
Bernard Richards Manufacture (B.R.M) sells on this site clocks from the Clock Machines collection, machined from solid at Magny-en-Vexin, together with the associated personalisation options. Product photographs are not contractually binding.
These terms govern online sales of Clock Machines concluded between B.R.M and any customer ("the Customer"). They apply to the exclusion of all other terms and prevail over any conflicting document. The Customer accepts them without reservation by confirming the order.
An order is placed in three steps: choice of model, execution and finish; contact details and delivery address; payment. Final confirmation constitutes irrevocable acceptance. A confirmation email is sent, setting out the details of the order and its amount.
The order is recorded as a draft and reviewed by the manufacture before final confirmation. B.R.M reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order that is abnormal, fraudulent or placed in bad faith, as well as any order for an execution whose limited series has sold out.
Prices are shown in euros, inclusive of all taxes, at the French VAT rate in force. The price depends on the model and its execution: the same clock may have several prices depending on the finish chosen.
Orders placed in the name of a company established in France or in the European Union additionally bear the French watchmaking industry levy, i.e. 0.19% of the amount before tax. It is shown in the summary before confirmation. Private individuals are not liable for it.
A company established in the European Union outside France and holding a valid intra-Community VAT number benefits from the reverse charge: the invoice is then issued excluding tax. The VAT number is therefore mandatory for any order placed in a company's name.
Payment is made by bank card through a secure payment link, by SEPA transfer, or through instalment and financing solutions where the Customer is eligible. No card data passes through B.R.M's servers.
The interest-free payment in three or four instalments and the Sofinco financing over 36 interest-free monthly instalments are reserved for customers residing in France, subject to approval by the partner institution. No arrangement fee applies.
Manufacturing begins upon receipt of payment or of the agreed deposit.
Each Clock Machine is machined and assembled to order. The first deliveries take place from September 2026 to February 2027 depending on the model, on the date stated on each model page ; after that date, the manufacturing time is approximately one month from the order. These lead times are indicative and a reasonable overrun cannot give rise to compensation.
Delivery is free of charge. Each piece is shipped in a wooden crate, transport insured by the manufacture. Delivery is made to the address given by the Customer, who must check that it is correct. It is for the Customer to inspect the condition of the parcel on receipt and to record any necessary reservations with the carrier.
In accordance with articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, a Customer acting as a consumer has fourteen days from receipt to exercise the right of withdrawal, without having to give reasons. The piece must be returned complete, in its original packaging and in perfect condition.
Exception — in accordance with article L221-28 3° of the same code, this right does not apply to goods made to the Customer's specifications or clearly personalised. A Clock Machine bearing an engraving chosen by the Customer or a bespoke livery is therefore neither taken back nor exchanged.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to business customers.
Every Clock Machine is guaranteed for nine years by B.R.M from delivery. This commercial warranty is in addition to the statutory warranties, which remain due in any event: the warranty of conformity (articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and the warranty against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code).
It covers neither impact, falls and breakage, nor normal wear, prolonged exposure to humidity, nor work carried out outside the B.R.M workshop.
The battery of the quartz movement is replaced about every three years. This is routine maintenance and not a defect: its replacement is not covered by the warranty.
Clock Machines are produced in a limited, numbered series: twenty pieces per finish. The number is engraved on the plate of the piece. B.R.M does not guarantee the availability of any particular number.
B.R.M cannot be held liable for any failure to perform its obligations arising from an event of force majeure within the meaning of article 1218 of the French Civil Code.
The data collected when an order is placed are necessary to process it. Their use is described in our privacy policy.
Any complaint may be sent to customer.service@brm-manufacture.com. Failing an amicable agreement, a Customer acting as a consumer may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator, or to the European online dispute resolution platform.
These terms are governed by French law. The French version prevails, translations being provided for convenience only. Failing an amicable settlement, jurisdiction is granted to the competent courts.
